Mark Knopfler was profiled on CBS Sunday Morning this week, and during the interview he talked about pulling the plug on Dire Straits.
Anthony Mason said "You walked away essentially at the peak," to which Knopfler replied, "Well, it seemed to me to do that was the only intelligent thing to do. We got so big." He also added, "You'd walk into catering and see some guy you just didn't know. And I didn't like that. Didn't want to be that."
