Coronavirus Could Affect Production Of Baby Yoda Toys

The “force” is not with Baby Yoda toymaker Hasbro.

Because of the coronavirus, production of much-anticipated Baby Yoda toys will most likely be delayed.

Hasbro, the maker of several of the toys, is expecting factories in China to slow down -- and even close -- as they figure out ways to get the virus under control and keep workers safe during all steps of production.

Industry expert Jim Silver told CNN Business that Hasbro factories in China are still fully operational. However Silver, who spoke with sources inside these factories, warns consumers and shareholders that the worst is yet to come.

“If things aren’t normal by the time June and July roll around, there will be shortages on a litany of toys,” said Silver, the CEO of toy review website TTPM.com.
