9/11 Tributes & Memorials in the Palm Beaches and on the Treasure Coast

Here are some of the events and services in South Florida:

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and County Fire Rescue will take part in the laying of a memorial wreath at the Patriot Memorial next to Village Hall on Forest Hill Boulevard at 8:30 a.m. 

West Palm Beach firefighters will climb in solidarity to recognize the lives lost and the ones that continue to be lost from the tragic events of 9/11. It happens at 515 Flagler Drive at 9 a.m. 

The City of Boynton Beach hosts a 20th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the Boynton Beach Amphitheater at Centennial Park at 10am. This ceremony is free to the public. Guests are encouraged to wear masks. Blankets and lawn chairs are permitted.

The Palm Beach County Fire Chief’s Association is hosting a Countywide Remembrance Ceremony for the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. The event starts at 9:58 A.M., the exact time that the first World Trade Center tower fell. It includes participation from several local fire and police departments. This event is open to the public. Due to COVID-19, facial coverings will be mandatory for the duration of the service, and social distancing will be observed.

A remembrance ceremony will be held at Wellington’s Patriot Memorial starting at 8:30am. The Village Council will make remarks and lay a wreath for those lost and affected by the attacks. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue will be in attendance to show solidarity for those lost and affected by the events of 9/11.

The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is hosting a special one-day community drive under the headline of Let’s Do Good Together from 8a - 5p.

The West Palm Beach Firefighter Union for a climb in solidarity recognizing the lives lost from the tragic events of 9/11 AT 9am. The union will be climbing 110 stories at 515 N Flagler 110.

Palm Beach Gardens is inviting people to remember those lost in 9/11 during a ceremony and then walk to its memorial site a short walk away afterward from 7-8pm at Christ Fellowship Church on Northlake Blvd.

2021 Tunnel to Towers 5k Run and Walk is 7:30am at Huizenga Park on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale.

There's also a Tunnel to Towers 5k in Vero Beach AT 7:30a at Riverside Park Drive.

In Port St. Lucie, starting at 9a, you can join the 9/11 anniversary commemoration that includes a 1-mile "ruck" — or military march often with weighted backpacks — followed by a K-9 demo, children's activities, live music, and a raffle at Keiser University.

Port St. Lucie will host its annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the event center beginning at 8:30am. Bells will toll four times, representing the four hijacked planes that crashed into the Pentagon,
