Today is World's Ocean Day and the Boca Raton City Council will consider a proposal that would reduce non-environmentally friendly items in the city. The ordinance will ban city vendors from using styrofoam food containers and coolers along with balloons and confetti. Local leaders say the items are harmful to the environment and can be mistaken for food by wildlife. 26 other municipalities have already passed similar ordinances including Boynton Beach.
