It's a sad day in the Big Apple! The very last working payphones just got removed... I didn't even get to say goodbye. Any one else think they should have just left it their for nostalgic reasons? I mean, where is Clark Kent supposed to change into Superman at?

The city began removing payphones in 2015 and replacing them with public Wi-Fi hotspots. In addition to free Wi-Fi, LinksNYC provides access to a social services directory, device charging, free phone calls within the U.S., and transit and weather alerts.
