A Texas man has been arrested after a video went viral showing him abandoning a husky on the side of the road.
Shortly after the video was posted to social media, it went viral which helped authorities track down the pet owner.
In the video, a young man can be seen releasing the dog by taking off the leash. The young man gets into the passenger side of the vehicle and an older man drives off.
The heartbreaking scene got worse after the dog began frantically chasing down the SUV but couldn't catch up.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the owner, Luis Antonio Campos, has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
Luckily, a family saw the video and adopted the abandoned Husky. They named the dog "Nanook," after the husky in the 1987 movie "The Lost Boys."
