Alcohol-To-Go Becomes Law In Florida

Florida's alcohol-to-go program is now permanent thanks to a bill Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Thursday morning.

According to the governor, the program worked so well during the pandemic, it made sense to make it permanent.

DeSantis also said the program helped boost sales for restaurants, allowing them to stay open.

“People were less likely to want to come out to restaurants, we knew that was going to cause a lot of problems in terms of their viability,” DeSantis said.

Now that it’s been signed, the law will go into effect on July 1.
