Meet Wally: The Emotional Support Alligator

A Pennsylvania man who was struggling with depression now owns an emotional support alligator.

After losing three family members and four lifelong friends in two weeks, Joie Henney was looking for some emotional support and a friend of his rescued alligators.

Wally, the emotional support alligator, is a federally licensed emotional support animal and has helped thousands, according to Henney.

"Wally just makes life so much better," Henney said.

Owning an alligator is extremely dangerous but according to Henney, Wally doesn't kill anything, has never shown any aggression, and has never tried to bite anybody.

"My family thinks I've lost my mind but emotional and mental health is very important," Henney said.
