Florida woman arrested for allegedly assaulting student with belt

FLORIDA CITY, FL - A woman's been arrested after she was allegedly caught on surveillance video entering her son’s school and hitting a student with a belt.

Authorities confirmed the arrest of 33-year-old Kady Ann Sewell, who was taken into custody on Saturday.

Zendre Pollard, the mother of the student who was assaulted, says surveillance video from Bethel Junior Academy captured the suspect walking into the school’s cafeteria and assaulting the teen on Thursday.

The suspect appeared to hit someone out camera view with a belt. That someone was Pollard’s son.

Pollard said Sewell’s son had been bulling her son, tells WSVN “my son told me he had an incident with another child that was bullying him, and he ended up defending himself. My son got bullied by the son, and now he got bullied by the mom as well.

On Friday, a court authorized a restraining order against Sewell.

The 33-year-old faces several charges, including child abuse and trespassing.
