Flashback to 6 of the best MTV "Unplugged" performances

We'll kick this Unplugged Show off With Eric Clapton:

Eric Clapton’s Unplugged came out on the album in 1992 and has sold over 26 million copies worldwide. Clapton received the GRAMMYs for Album of the Year and Best Rock Song for the acoustic rendition of “Layla.” Here is the most poignant song from the album, Clapton's rememberance of his son late Conor in “Tears in Heaven.” It is still heartbreaking and emotional to this day.

One of Rod's most upbeat song get's the "Unplugged" treatment. Ronnie Wood's acoustic guitar just shines. Turn it up and enjoy!

A full house and a full stage for a Kiss reunion show. UNPLUG IT IN NOW! And enjoy "Rock and Roll All Night," the acoustic version!

Here is Sir Paul McCartney swapping his bass for an acoustic guitar. Enjoy this mini-concert with many of the songs you've loved your whole life. Unplugged!

Remembering Glen Frey, he and the The Eagles were at the peak of their powers around this time. You'll know every word and every note of this song. Unplugged!

And we close out our Unplugged Super Concert with an unbelievably good version of Led Zeppelin's "The Rain Song." I think it's better than the album version. Tanks for watching, and thanks for supporting the Gater all these years.  Andy Preston
