Three Days Grace will be at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale this Sunday, and earlier today I got to chat with their bass player Brad Walst!  They are in NY right now and looking forward to the warm South Florida sun this weekend, and we're looking forward to the show.

The band is really busy with the tour right now, but that's not stopping them from writing.  Brad told me that they do have some new songs written and would like to try to start working on a new album sometime next year.  As for their latest ablum, "Transit of Venus," it's doing extremely well and Brad had a very cool story about how they came up with the title (listen below to find out).

As you've probably heard, there have been some changes to Three Days Grace this year.  In December of last year, Adam Gontier left the band, which Brad says surprised everybody.  He told me it was kind of like a "bad divorce" and that they haven't talked to Adam since his departure.  Brad's brother, Matt Walst (from My Darkest Days), is currently handling lead vocals for Three Days Grace on their current tour.  Brad says he's doing a great job, and that there's a new energy in the band.

I had to ask how they decided on Matt as the lead singer.  Brad said he got the call about Adam quitting while he was having lunch with Matt, and when he got off the phone he looked at his brother and asked "What are you doing for the next couple of months!?"  The rest, as they say, is history!

When asked if Matt being in the band was a permanent thing, Brad said he wasn't really sure at this point because of his brother's commitment to My Darkest Days.
