Feeling safer yet?

The latest crime rates from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are in, and they show a decrease in every single category during the first half of the year.@

Murder, robbery and grand theft auto were down by almost 10 percent statewide.

The overall number of crimes was down by 5 percent during the first half of the year and if that trend continues, Florida's crime rate will reach a 43 year low.

Crime is down in Palm Beach County 4.9%.

St. Lucie County is down more than 15 percent, Indian River down over 18 percent, but Martin County crime inched up .1 percent.
