A deadly crash involving a Tri-Rail train and a vehicle has shut down traffic at Linton Boulevard and Congress Avenue in Delray Beach.
At 10:45 am, northbound train P618 struck a car at the Linton Blvd crossing, according to a Tri-Rail spokeswoman.
She said a person in the vehicle died at the scene. According to Delray Beach Fire Rescue, 5 Tri-Rail passengers are complaining of injuries.
90 people are currently riding the train and must remain onboard until police allow them to leave.
Tri-Rail says other north and southbound trains will be stopped before the crash scene and passengers will board a bus to the next stop.
Delray Beach police are advising drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. The crash is also impacting traffic exiting I-95 and trying to head west on Linton.
