Benmont Tench, His First Solo Album "You Should Be So Lucky." Review.

Benmont Tench, His First Solo Album

From Florida's legendary Mudcrutch to the Heartbreakers, Benmont Tench plays stellar keyboards for Tom Petty and he's answered many invitations to guest on others' sessions (Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Waylon Jennings, Cheryl Crow, Don Henley and Ringo Starr to name a few.) Now stepping out with his first solo album Tench hits many high notes. The first thing that stood is Benmont's mellow, wise and soulful voice. He sings with a rare gentility. Witness that on the album's opening track "Today I Took Your Picture Down."  The next track is a very tasty blues instrumental "Ecor Rouge." Benmont's never can reach, it just slips away moment comes next on cut 5 "Blonde Girl, Blue Dress." The magic kiss is not to be! Gotta watch out for the perfectly deployed F-BOMB in the title track, "You Should Be So Lucky", that's an Angry Benmont singing that song! Give it a listen, I'm sure you find lots to like! Andy
